Hosting Parties during the Holidays

During the holiday season, I adore hosting parties at my home. I always enjoy spending time with close friends and family members in a relaxed atmosphere. Are you already busily planning upcoming events at your home? Consider making your house look amazing when visitors arrive by hiring a professional cleaning service. A cleaning service can complete tedious chores such as vacuuming your carpets, mopping your hardwood floors, cleaning your oven, and dusting your furniture. On this blog, I hope you will discover the benefits of hiring a cleaning service before your guests are expected to arrive. Your home can be a spotless party paradise.

Four Steps For Cleaning Up Your Messy Backyard

With all of the obligations on your plate, it's easy to forget to care for your yard. If everything is starting to look a little overgrown and toys are strewn about the lawn, even starting the cleanup process can feel overwhelming. But if you approach this task step by step, you can enjoy a cleaner, tidier landscape in the span of one weekend.

Step 1: Put everything away.

You'll have an easier time with the subsequent steps if all of the toys, random flower pots, and patio furniture is stashed out of the way. Clear space in your garage or basement, and pack these items away. Even if you don't have time to arrange them neatly, at least they'll be somewhere sheltered where you can later go through them on a rainy day. You'll be surprised how much better your yard looks after just completing this step.

Step 2: Give everything a trim.

From the lawn itself to your bushes, everything looks unkempt when allowed to grow too long. So, start by mowing the lawn, and then use the weed whacker to neaten up the edges. Then comes the harder part -- addressing the bushes and shrubs. You can cut back bushes using pruning shears, but you may want an electric trimmer for the shrubs. You can rent these at a local garden store, or see if someone in your neighborhood has one they're willing to borrow for the afternoon. Don't worry about doing a perfect job this time around. If you miss a branch or two, that's okay. This cleanup process is about the big picture; next time you trim, you can be more thorough. You can also hire a service like Home & Commercial Cleaning Service to do this part.

Step 3: Fertilize everything.

Your lawn, flowers, and shrubs probably look a bit drab if you let them get overgrown. Plus, you've now trimmed away much of their growth, which may cause them to droop a bit in the days that come. Help bring them back to life by mixing up a big batch of all-purpose fertilizer and applying some to the soil around each plant. Alternatively, you can purchase one of those hose attachments that dilute the fertilizer as you spray and give everything a good spray.

Step 4: Add a pop of color.

Now that things are neat and tidy again, head to the garden store and buy yourself a few potted flowers. Place them in conspicuous areas like next to your door or in the corner of the patio. The pop of color they bring will draw attention away from any bush or corner of your lawn that's still not perfect.
